Description
Character
The curtain fabric has a slight sheen and a very fine texture. The dimout blackout curtain is available in 21 timeless solid colors. It is opaque from the inside and outside, day and night. The curtain fabric blocks out up to approximately 85% of light (the darker the color, the more it feels like 100%). Therefore, the LONDON MAYFAIR falls into the category of so-called "dimout" curtains. These have a similar blackout effect to blackout hotel curtains. However, they are not plasticized on the back. The advantages of this are that the back of the curtain also shines in the desired color and that the curtains are less stiff and therefore have more attractive waves. In any case, we recommend ordering a free fabric sample of the desired fabric and conducting the flashlight test at home: Simply hold a switched-on flashlight behind the fabric – and you will see how the fabric behaves in strong light.
If you want 100% blackout, we recommend our blackout curtains.
The curtains can be used as decorative curtains to add a splash of color to the room left and right of the window and/or as functional curtains to completely block out light and prying eyes.
These curtains are a high-quality interior design element.

acoustic curtain
Acoustic curtains dampen the sound generated inside a room. However, they do not protect against noise generated outside a building.
Blackout curtain LONDON MAYFAIR made to measure
The maximum curtain height depends on the configuration.
The curtain width can be individually selected. For oversizes (height/width) please send us an Enquiry.
Curtain type
Good to know
To create a blackout curtain fabric, several layers are woven together. The inner layer is black. If the curtain develops creases, for example, during transport, the dark layer may, in rare cases, become visible. This can be easily ironed out.

Curtain measuring devices
The easiest way to determine the correct curtain height is with a standard double meter, the free vorhangbox-Curtain measuring tape or one Laser measuring device measure up.
Curtain height
Measure from the bottom edge of the curtain rail (A in the illustration) to the floor or windowsill (B in the illustration). Depending on your personal preference, add or subtract a few centimeters from the resulting measurement (C in the illustration):
- Minus 2cm: The curtain hangs approx. 1-2cm above the floor (recommendation).
- Minus 1cm: The curtain stands on the floor.
- Plus 5cm to plus 15cm: The curtain is on the floor.
Enter the value you receive in the “Height/Curtain Height” field when ordering the curtain.
Tip 1: Floors, curtain boards, and ceilings aren't always completely level. Be sure to measure the height in several places.
Tip 2: If you add night or blackout curtains to day curtains, please ensure that the day curtains are about 0.5 cm less high so that they do not show through at the bottom.
Curtain width
Measure the distance you want the curtains to cover.
If the window on the left and/or right is not directly connected to a side wall, the curtain should be at least 20cm wider than the window on each side.
If you want one pair of curtains per window, halve the measured distance by two and order two curtains of that length.
Round the measurement you receive up to the next larger available width and select that.
Amount of substance: You measure the distance to be covered and we automatically calculate how much fabric is needed.
